Yinsey Wang Interview - I love delving into fantasy worlds and exploring new worlds with fellow creatives.

Swanky Magazine Interviews the wonderfully talented individual - Yinsey Yang.

MODEL SPOTLIGHT | VOL.1 | ISSUE.2

With her strikingly unique self-portraits and editorial work. Having a detailed eye for all things beauty we caught up with her to ask a little more about her journey!

Q1. Can you introduce yourself to Swanky Magazine's readers?
I am a hobbyist self-portraiture artist and model, but my full-time job is as a lawyer. I love delving into fantasy worlds and exploring new worlds with fellow creatives. My heart sings for fairytales and adventures and I can never resist a beautiful ruin or estate house to unleash my imagination.

Q2. How did you get involved with modelling, and what do you love most about being a model?
I tried some photography at university and then started dabbling in modelling. I became addicted! It just is really fun to transform oneself to a different subject and think about the emotions you can convey with your posing and facial expressions. Over time, I managed to find some opportunities to collaborate with some talented people and I realised the world of fairytale and fantasy genre quickly became my favorite. That is because, in that world, anything is possible!

Q3. What fuels your imagination and provides you with inspiration.
I love seeing the work of diverse creators taking old stories and transforming them for a new audience, as well as the gorgeous rich tapestry of ancient myth and how that has been portrayed through the ages.

Q4. Let us into a secret, what is a beauty trick you do before a photoshoot?
Sadly I am not the savviest with beauty tricks nor beauty regimes in general, but if you can do a nice hydrating face mask the night before (that you've used before, as allergies can be an issue!), that helps!

Q5. What projects are you working on next and what are your goals for the future?
I have created Enchanted Asian Day with Bella Kotak and Lillian Liu and it is a movement to promote the work of Asian creators in the fairytale and fantasy space. Our aim is to increase representation and break down stereotypes, particularly in light of a rise in hate crimes around the world against East and South East Asians, fuelled by COVID-19-related prejudice. This is something that is close to my heart and I hope that you go follow us on Instagram (@enchantedasianday)!

In terms of other projects, I just hope to keep an open mind and keep creating in the most amazing places with talented and kind people. The chemistry with a team is what really makes the experience of creating memories.
