Q1. Swanky Mag: Hello Sloane, Can you introduce yourself to Swanky Magazine's

readers?

My name is Sloane M. Perron, and I am a professor, editor, journalist, and most recently a mode! I believe that being a well-rounded person and immersing yourself in new experiences is vital to living a full life. Through modeling, I explore other facets of myself while making connections with incredibly talented photographers, models, directors, and other creatives.

Q2. How did you get involved with modeling, and what do you love most about being

a model?

I have a background in theater and was a dancer trained in the Cecchetti school of ballet. However, my introduction to the modeling world began with my friend, Kelsey Bosselait. Kelsey is an extremely talented photographer who encouraged me to try modeling just for fun and as a self-confidence boost. My passion for modeling is two-fold: I get to dress-up and capture another aspect of my personality while also meeting extraordinary people who encourage me and mentor me. It is fascinating seeing the transformative nature of modeling and I appreciate each photographers’ unique style. I am thankful for the support that this community has shown me.

Q3. What fuels your imagination and provides you with inspiration.

As a literary professor, most of my ideas are inspired by my favorite literary genres and movies. I love gothic literature, romanticism, and film noir. Additionally, I have fun experimenting with vintage styles from the 1940s to the 1960s. My favorite shoots combine the class, style, and femineity of the past, with the confident edge of a modern woman.

Q4. Let us into a secret, What is a beauty trick you do before a photoshoot?

My beauty secret is to surround yourself with friends and family who can help you with makeup and hair! Cosmetics and hairstyling have always been skills that have alluded me, but through modeling I have gained a great appreciation for this field and am glad that I have so many people willing to help me! For me, modeling is a team effort which is a big part of the fun.

Q5. What projects are you working on next, and what are your goals for the future?

Ultimately, my goal is to become a broadcast journalist and to continue traveling the world telling the stories of others. Right now, I am excited to continue exploring the world of modeling and photography. I look forward to collaborating with different photographers as I push myself out of my comfort zone and explore unique styles, aesthetics, and sets. I am always ready for a challenge and a new experience. I am having so much fun and I look forward to seeing where my modeling journey takes me next!
